Toby’s Story

With roots in the wilderness of Ontario, Toby is committed to helping clients cut through their biggest problems with efficiency and confidence. His cross-sector experience in corporate and commercial law, consulting, government, and hospitality, has given him unique insight into the web of challenges that confront business owners on a day-to-day basis.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Zabo Law, Toby articled with a national law firm and practiced as an associate in Vancouver. His experience includes working with a major consulting firm’s Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice group. Most recently, Toby worked with a regulatory agency in the Quinte region where he gained deep knowledge of Ontario’s development and planning sectors.
education
Toby received his law degree from the University of British Columbia, where he captained the Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot team and was the recipient of multiple awards in legal writing and advocacy. Before law school, Toby completed his bachelors in philosophy at the University of Toronto, graduating with high distinction.
Outside The Office
Toby is an actor and does a lot of plays in the Belleville/Quinte region. He is also very keen on the outdoors, and can often be found canoeing with his dog and partner in the beautiful waters north of the 401.
